Widex Hearing Aids
Founded in Denmark in1956, Widex began as a family owned business and is now the sixth largest hearing aid manufacturer in the world. Widex is committed to developing digital technology which has led to advances such as the world’s first digital in-the-ear hearing aid and revolutionary wireless technology. In 2012, Widex received the European Inventor Award for their work in advancing hearing aid technology. Widex is also known for the “Widex Sound,” which provides people with hearing loss access to a full spectrum of sound, enhancing soft sounds and making sure louder sounds are comfortable.
UNIQUE: For Active Lifestyles
True to its name, UNIQUE stands apart from other hearing aids with three main features: a wide sound picture to give wearers comfort in both loud and soft sounds; noise reduction for any environment, especially windy ones; and an automatic detection of the wearer’s environment to ensure consistent and seamless listening.
UNIQUE allows wearers to hear better in background noise, and as a wireless hearing aid, it connects to smartphones through the COM-DEX app, allowing for discreet and simple control of volume and hearing aid features. UNIQUE hearing aids are available in the following styles: completely-in-canal micro, completely-in-canal, in-the-ear, receiver-in-canal, and behind-the-ear. Built for active lifestyles, UNIQUE is a fully automated device that provides a full spectrum of sound in any environment.
DREAM Hearing Aids
DREAM hearing aids are fully digital devices, designed for both new and seasoned hearing aid wearers, providing a listening experience that is rich, detailed, and well-rounded. The DREAM allows wearers to hear sounds without distortion, recognize speech in noisy situations, and listen to music with enhanced features.
The DREAM has been proven to improve speech perception by 21% in loud noise. True-Input Technology offers wearers a wider range of sound. With a fast processing platform, the DREAM provides clearer sounds without distortion. For all of its powerful technology, the DREAM offers a 20% longer battery life than other hearing aids of the same caliber. DREAM hearing aids are available in the following styles: completely-in-canal micro, completely-in-canal, in-the-ear, receiver-in-canal, and behind-the-ear.
SUPER: For Severe to Profound Hearing Loss
Thirty-percent of people who wear hearing aids experience severe to profound hearing loss. The SUPER hearing aid is designed to address higher degrees of hearing loss, and is worn as receiver-in-the-ear. With severe to profound hearing loss, speech recognition becomes increasingly difficult. The SUPER enhances speech recognition and conversation, especially in noisy environments. SUPER’s microphones capture a full spectrum of sound from 360 degrees in any environment, and balances sounds so that wearers may focus on what they want to hear. Though small and discreet, the SUPER is quite powerful, with a long battery life and weather resistant coating.
ZEN Tinnitus Therapy
Many people who experience hearing loss also experience the frustrating symptoms of tinnitus, a “ringing of the ears.” To address tinnitus, Widex offers the Zen Tinnitus Therapy system. It consists of four steps: 1) counseling – to educate and assist the limbic system to alter its negative interpretation of tinnitus via cognitive and behavioral intervention; 2) amplification – to stimulate the ears and brain and to prevent over compensation; 3) fractal tones – known as Zen tones, designed to relax and provide acoustic stimulation; and 4) relaxation – behavioral exercises and sleep management strategies. The Zen Tinnitus Therapy program is available as a standalone device, Zen2Go, or is incorporated into other Widex hearing aids.
